Helmet SPP50
After Aquacentrum chief designer Peter Katz escaped to Sweden the SP20D project was taken over by Jiri Trpik. After a request from the East German army for diving equipment Jiri Trpik took 4 years to redesign the SP20D helmet into the SPP50 helmet to meet the East German Army requirements. 21 sets of SPP50 diving equipment were built. The first 7 photographs show a prototype of the SPP50 helmet ( with special thanks for these photographs to Mr Dusan Surani ) The last 3 photographs were taken in former East Germany, they show the final version of the SPP50 helmet. The exhaust valve on the final version of this helmet is either a genuine Draeger DM220 exhaust valve, or an exact copy of it.
